The Gateway to Nahuelbuta
Vegas Blancas Node
The last great valley before ascending to the millenary summits. A territory shaped by high-mountain identity, local gastronomy and ecotourism.
Road Conditions
Check road conditions before heading up, especially in winter: the final stretch to the National Park may require chains or 4x4 traction with snow or mud.

High Mountain Weather
Temperatures in Vegas Blancas are usually 3°C to 5°C lower than in urban Angol. In winter, below-zero temperatures are common.
The Hidden Valley
Just a few kilometers from the entrance to Nahuelbuta National Park, the Vegas Blancas area stands as the last supply and lodging point before plunging into the mountains.
Its community, deeply rooted in logging and farming traditions, has reinvented itself around sustainable tourism, offering warm lodging and countryside food with locally foraged products (such as digüeñes and changles in season).
